Your motivation is probably at a minimum right now, especially with everything that’s currently going on. We don’t know when this pandemic will be over, but the way you get motivated certainly hasn’t changed due to the pandemic. You get motivated the same way during a pandemic as you would normally do, which is for you to take action, even when you are at a zero level of motivation.
This is the time for you to start getting motivated. So, take the first step, do it again and keep going because you will definitely feel better. The moment you start seeing results, is the moment you will want to continue motivating yourself to keep moving.
Here are some tips we thought we could share with you to kick start your motivation to stay active.
It is important to have and maintain a comfortable and clean workout space. Your home is not a gym, well if it is then lucky you, but if it isn’t then you’d need to adjust a few things. That might mean setting up a small space in your room, or simply moving the coffee table on the living room, giving you enough space to workout. Make space for yourself to make it feel like your own personal studio.
Start small and track your progress. Make it a challenge to find that 15-45 minutes in your day to do one workout once a week. Establishing a workout routine that works for you and sticking to it is more important than the duration and/or the type of workout you do.
Just because we’re isolated at home, doesn’t mean we have to exercise alone. If you do not prefer to exercise alone, ask your family and friends to join an exercise with you through video call. It’s much easier to stick to a workout plan and stay motivated if you have your friends and family doing it along with you.
If you are unsure on how to start your home workout routine, go online and look for assistance. There are plenty of online workout classes with variety of disciplines that is able to keep your fitness level up at home; where you can receive direct live feedback from the instructor.
Remember to start one step at a time. If you’re a beginner, try not to exhaust yourself right away. Start small by pushing yourself to be more active than usual, but don’t do an exercise if you feel tired or in pain. Don’t force your form if you are not ready to perform a certain exercise.
